The Story Arc

Ava Bartlett is a pregnant realtor obsessed with true crime. When her husband Nathan, a former tennis pro whose career is stalling, discovers that their new plumber is actually the notorious "Westside Ripper" serial killer, they decide not to turn him in. Instead, they black-mail him into starting a podcast with them, which leads to a chaotic spiral of danger, fame, and ethical dilemmas.

Ava Bartlett is smart, ambitious, and slightly unhinged in her obsession with true crime. She is pregnant and frustrated by her and Nathan's financial struggles. Despite the immense danger of working with a serial killer, Ava is determined to make the podcast a success, acting as the mastermind behind the show's marketing and content strategy.

Created by Craig Rosenberg and executive produced by Jason Bateman alongside Kaley Cuoco under her Yes, Norman Productions banner. The show premiered on Peacock and has been renewed for a second season, continuing the satirical examination of modern media culture.
